I am interested in life cycles; the process of death, the miracle of new life and the constant rhythm of endings and new beginnings. With this work, I focus on the decay of an orange peel. I peeled an orange, removed the center, sewed it back together and documented the peel’s decay with the absence of its life source. Each image of the orange represents the elapse of one day.
Our journey through life is an attempt to move toward wholeness yet at the same time as we are on this journey, inevitably, our bodies move closer towards death and decay.
